Take advantage of the time given to you.

Learn to redeem the time--make the most of every opportunity.

Ephesians 5:15-17 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.

Consider the contrast in how wise people spend their time versus the foolish:
  • Wise person makes decisions and thinks about eternity, while the foolish live for the moment with little thought of the future.
  • The foolish person lives for themselves, while the wise lives for the glory of God and others.
  • The wise person is thoughtful and intentional, but the foolish is careless with their time and tends to react to life.
You may be able to think of some practical ways you can begin practicing to stop wasting the valuable opportunities God gives you to do things that are really important. We spend a lot of time waiting, waiting for our children, waiting in the doctors office, waiting on hold (on the phone) maybe. Perhaps there are activities you could pack along with you to make those "waiting" moments more valuable and productive.
