I have been studying Romans lately and Paul reminds the church that we are not saved by the law but by faith alone. God gave me the law to show how sinful I actually am. There is no way I can keep the law. It is by God's grace that that I have communion with Him and by His mercy that I have been set free from the law.
"Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin." - Romans 3:20 (NIV)
